CONFERENCE THEME

Learning means acquisition of knowledge and skills as well as improvement of social and individual competence.

Learning combines curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, a large range of feelings, the desire to and also fear of taking risks, concrete experiences, new experiences and a love for adventure.

Learning aims at recognizing and understanding relationships and  increasing skills in the areas of knowledge, capabilities and action.

Learning develops cognitive skills and emotional growth.

The metaphor Learning, an emotional and cognitive adventure:

- What scientific knowledge verifies it?

- What individual challenges does it pose for teachers and students?

- What does it imply with regard to practical and methodical action?

- What consequences and impulses does it present for teaching and for leading study groups and teams ?

- What effects does it have on institutions and organizational structures?

The conference offers:

- the opportunity to become acquainted with varied theories and methods

- the chance to exchange findings and experiences within and among groups with different professions

- a forum for discussion on where and how learning skills can be supported and developed by individuals, groups and institutions

- a chance to experience live Theme-centered Interaction (TCI), developed by Ruth Cohn as a method for “living learning”
